Yummy Delicious Banana Bread

Bread. The popular food item found in most houses today. Young or old, kids or adults, men or women… we all eat this item very regularly. But then isn’t bread made of maida unhealthy? Even the whole wheat bread available in the markets are not really ‘whole’! So then what do we do.

Here’s a quick and simple recipe to bake a delicious loaf of bread at home using the most nutritious ingredients. It is not only healthy for the body but also yummy for the tongue. And best part is that kids are gonna love it like anything. So here we go….


Ingredients

  • Wheat flour    2 cups
  • Olive Oil    ½ cup
  • Sugar (castor)     1 cup
  • Vanilla essence     ½ spoon
  • Cinnamon powder    ½ spoon
  • Nutmeg powder    ½ teaspoon
  • Baking powder    ½ spoon
  • Baking soda    ½ spoon
  • Ripe Banana    4 nos.
  • Dry fruits, tuti fruity   as per choice for garnishing


Method

  • Preheat the oven @ 200 degree.
  • Peel and mash the bananas in a mixer jar and keep aside.
  • Sieve wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon powder and nutmeg powder three times and keep aside.
  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, vanilla essence, castor sugar and the mashed banana and beat well using a beater / blender to make a thick paste.
  • Slowly add the wheat flour mixture into this paste and mix well with cut and fold method.
  • Grease a cake tin with oil and dust it with wheat flour.
  • Use cake tins of different shapes to add to the fun for kids.
  • Pour the batter into the cake tin and garnish it with dry fruits, tuti fruity
  • Bake it for 30-40 minutes in the preheated oven.

Note
     
  • Baking time may vary depending upon the type of Oven. Insert a knife or spoon into the middle of the cake, if it comes out clean that is the indication that the cake is done. If it sticks, bake it for few more minutes.
  • Bananas should be mashed properly, there should be no lumps in the mixture.
  • Always allow the cake to come to room temperature before cutting it. Else it will crumble and will not cut into fine pieces.
