Whole wheat strawberry choco bread

When son likes strawberries daughter likes chocolate and mom loves baking breads at home this is the outcome ☺️....... strawberry choco bread loaf 🤗



Ingredients

Whole wheat flour.                  2 cups
Chiroti rava.                             1 cup
Strawberry puree.                    1/2 cup
Cocoa powder.                         2 tblspn
Instant yeast.                            1 tspn
Honey.                                        1 tspn
Milk powder (optional).             2 tblspn
Oil.                                                2 tblspn
Salt as required
Lukewarm water as required


Method

  • Take few strawberries, wash them and blend them to get half cup of puree.
  • Add honey, lukewarm water and yeast and leave it for 10 mins to activate.
  • Take 1 cup whole wheat flour, half cup chiroti rava, required salt, 1 tblspn milk powder, strawberry puree, little lukewarm water, 1tblspn oil, half of yeast mixture and knead a dough with stretch n pull method, and leave in a greased bowl to double.
  • Take the remaining ingredients add cocoa powder and knead another dough and leave it to double.
  • After first proofing, punch and knead again lightly for a minute and cut 6 equal balls each from both dough.
  • Roll oval shape (length as per the tin's size)of all balls and place alternatively one on another.(pink, then brown ,then pink and so on)
  • Finally just press a little to give a shape and place it sideways in a well greased loaf tin (it will be like strips).
  • Give a milk wash and leave it covered with a cloth for second proofing till it reaches the brim of tin or for 30-40 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven at 200 degrees and bake at same temp for 40-50 minutes.
  • Apply butter on top and cover with a damp cloth.
  • Slice when completely cooled down.




Notes
Take dark red and almost ripe strawberries.
Bread tin size i used is 7.5" * 3.5".
