Sunflower pizza
Pizza in a different avataar..hahahha...normally pizza comes in round shape in a square box and eaten in triangle shape. but try out this sunflower shape piizza...its pull apart... you can bake and just grab a piece or rather pull a piece and put it in your mouth...tasty indeed. In my house it was finished in no time.
Ingredients (dough)
- whole Wheat Flour 3 cups
- All purpose flour 1 cup
- Active dry yeast 2 tspn
- Sugar 1 tbspn
- salt to taste
- warm water 1 cup
- Milk powder 2 tbspn
- Oil 1/2 cup
Method
1. Prepare yeast mixture as guided on the yeast packet.
2. Add whole wheat flour, salt, all purpose flour, milk powder, oil and yeast mixture in a large bowl and knead it thoroughly for 12-15 minutes untill its smooth.
3. cover the dough with a damp cloth and leave it for proofing for 1.5-2 hrs. in a warm place.
4. After the first proofing, take the dough, punch it, knead again for 3-5 minutes and make two equal portions.
5. roll the portions into round shape like a chapati.
6. grease the baking tray, place the first rolled chapati , spread the pizza sauce evenly leaving the edges, spread the stuffing or toppings of your choice, spread grated cheese, sprinkle salt, black pepper and oregano.
7. brush water on the edges and place the other rolled chapati on to it.
8. press on the edges so that the stuffing do not come out while baking.
9. give a round impression in the middle with the help of a bowl / cookie cutter and divide the sides in 8 equal portions.(just give impression using a pizza cutter/knife). just ensure you are giving a flower shape.
10.again keep it in a warm place for another 40 mins for second proofing.
11. preheat the oven @ 200 degrees.
12. give it milk wash and sprinkle mixed herbs on it and bake it for 40-45 mins or until it gets the brown colour on top.
13. remove it and apply butter/oil on it and serve hot and enjoyy.
- blanched and pureed tomato 2 cups
- garlic 4-5 nos.
- soya sauce 1 tspn
- Red chilli sauce 2 tspn
- Vinegar 2 tspn
- Tomato ketchup 2 tspn
- salt to taste
- mixed herbs 1 tspn
- sugar 1/2 tspn
Method
- Blend blanched tomatoes with garlic in a blender.
- Heat a pan, add the tomato puree and all other ingredients and mix it well till it thickens and the takes the form of a pizza sauce.
- Cool it and use.
