Orange cake



Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup powdered organic unrefined sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoon unflavored oil
  • 2 tspn orange peel powder/ orange zest
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • Few drops natural orange extract/essence
  • 1/2 tspn baking powder
  • Salt a pinch



Method


  • Sieve flour, salt and baking powder 4-6 times and keep aside.
  • In a deep bowl whisk nicely eggs with powdered unrefined sugar and orange extract/essence.
  • Add oil and dry Ingredients gradually and mix well.
  • Finally add the orange juice and zest/ orange peel powder and fold well to form a batter.
  • Pour in a greased/parchment lined cake tin and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 40-45 mins or till a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool and slice & enjoy.



Notes

  • 1/2 cup curd with 1/4 tspn baking soda can be used instead of eggs. In that case if needed add little hot water to adjust consistency if required.
  • Bake as per your ovens' temperature as each oven behaves different.
  • I baked in an 8 inch Bundt tin, u can bake in any shape cake tin of 7" or 8".
