Orange cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 3/4 cup powdered organic unrefined sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoon unflavored oil
- 2 tspn orange peel powder/ orange zest
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- Few drops natural orange extract/essence
- 1/2 tspn baking powder
- Salt a pinch
Method
- Sieve flour, salt and baking powder 4-6 times and keep aside.
- In a deep bowl whisk nicely eggs with powdered unrefined sugar and orange extract/essence.
- Add oil and dry Ingredients gradually and mix well.
- Finally add the orange juice and zest/ orange peel powder and fold well to form a batter.
- Pour in a greased/parchment lined cake tin and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 40-45 mins or till a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool and slice & enjoy.
Notes
- 1/2 cup curd with 1/4 tspn baking soda can be used instead of eggs. In that case if needed add little hot water to adjust consistency if required.
- Bake as per your ovens' temperature as each oven behaves different.
- I baked in an 8 inch Bundt tin, u can bake in any shape cake tin of 7" or 8".
